What we do



The Swing Time Jivers will dazzle the audience with their high-energy Lindy-Hop, Tap, Swing and Charleston routines. We perform with many great musicians and artists – Names such as Glenn Miller Orchestra UK, Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, Celebrate Sinatra, Pasadena Roof Orchestra and many more.


We teach fun, friendly interactive classes to all age groups. We combine the history of Authentic Jazz Dance whilst teaching you the high energy, fun and excitement of the dance form. We will introduce you to the Lindy Hop which is the original form of Jazz Dancing – guaranteed you will be smiling all the way through!

Dance Styles

Lindy Hop

The Lindy hop is an American dance which was born in Harlem. It was very popular during the Swing era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. The Lindy hop is the grandfather of all swing dances and is a couple’s dance. The defining movement of the Lindy Hop is the swingout.

Big Apple

The Big Apple is a party dance of the 1940’s which was danced in a circle. You had a caller who would shout out the dance steps whilst the dancers performed popular Authentic jazz dance steps .


Swing dancing is a dance style, or a group of dances, originating from Harlem, New York with Afro-American Roots. The feeling of the dance is “swinging”, as it developed to the swing style of jazz music from the 1920s to the 1940s.

Chorus Tap

Chorus Tap routine is a synchronised tap routine which involves a combination of tap steps, including the famous Shim Sham.

The One Man Dance

The One Man Dance is a tap dance originally performed by The Five Blazers in the 1929 Movie, Black and Tan Fantasy. It’s fun, clever and precise, and hard to do with a straight face!

Soft Shoe Shuffle

The Soft Shoe Shuffle is a tap dance that is performed whilst wearing soft sole shoes. Its elegancy and smooth moves will captivate our audience.

Chorus Line

Chorus line consists of a few female dancers who together perform a synchronised routine whilst in a line.


The Charleston was a very popular dance of the 1920s, danced by both young women (Flappers) and young men of that generation.
